How do I maintain my oral health during the time I am unable to see my dentist?
Maintaining your dental hygiene is greatly dependant on home care. Whilst our routine dental examinations are being postponed, there are many things that you can do at home to maintain and improve your dental care. Brushing your teeth twice a day is an effective way to minimise the production of dental plaque and keep your teeth in a healthy condition, remembering to use dental floss or interdental brushes as well between all teeth prior to toothbrushing the use of mouthwash also prevents bacterial growth. Whilst we all enjoy chocolates and sweets, limiting your sugar intake will also be beneficial towards maintaining your oral health. Over time acidic foods and drinks such as fizzy pop and citrus fruits can wear down teeth, so try to limit your consumption of them in order to protect your teeth.
