pregnant women

It is important to continue to visit your dentist during pregnancy, as the body's changes can also impact your mouth. The main oral problem caused by pregnancy is inflammation of the gums, which could be gingivitis or pregnancy epulis, and can both lead to increased soreness and sensitivity in the mouth.

If treatment is required, the second trimester is often the best time for these to be carried out. Advanced and invasive treatment should be left until after pregnancy to prevent any complications and to wait until the gums are in better condition.

Furthermore, dental X-rays and certain materials will be avoided to maintain safety of the patient.
