Dentures are removable dental appliances that are used to replace any missing teeth in the mouth. They overcome the problems that gaps can leave you with for example speech and eating. Here at Borrowash Dental Centre we provide both partial and complete dentures to suit the needs of each patient. This involves taking an impression to ensure that the denture fits perfectly.
We advise that you still attend dental appointments after having either partial or complete dentures, as problems can still occur in the mouth.
cARING FOR YOUR DENTURES
Although some teeth have been replaced, it is still very important to take good care of your mouth. Here are some actions you should be taking after receiving dentures to maintain a healthy mouth:
Remove dentures when sleeping, so that the gums can breathe.
Keep the dentures soaked in denture-cleaning solution when they are not being worn.
Brush any remaining teeth twice a day.
Clean dentures as regularly as your own teeth, as they can gather plaque and food deposits.
Clean them over a sink of water so that if dropped they will not break.
Avoid eating anything sticky or sharp.
If you have concerns regarding your existing dentures for example they are causing discomfort or sores, have broken or you are interested in some new dentures, do not hesitate to call us on 01332 661944 to make an appointment.
